Frequently asked questions
Is there a WARDOGS artillery calculator?
Yes — this is a free WARDOGS artillery calculator that runs in the browser. Mark where the gun is and where you want the rounds to land, and it solves the firing solution for you. Nothing to install and no account needed.
Can I use it as a WARDOGS mortar calculator?
Yes. The L81 mortar is one of the supported weapons, and it is the one most players mean when they search for a mortar calculator. Pick it in the weapon selector and the elevation readout switches to the mortar ballistic table.
What is an arty calculator and is this one?
“Arty” is just player shorthand for artillery, so a WARDOGS arty calculator is the same tool as a WARDOGS artillery calculator — this page. It works the same whether you call it arty, artillery or mortar.
What does the calculator actually solve?
Three things: the distance between the firing position and the target, the azimuth (compass bearing) to lay the gun on, and the barrel elevation in mils. For weapons with two firing solutions it shows both the low arc and the high arc.
How do I set the firing position and the target?
Click anywhere on the map, or type the coordinates in game format. A is the firing position and B is the target; drag either marker to fine-tune. The solution recalculates as you move them, and the range rings help you judge whether the target is in reach.
Which maps and weapons are supported?
Three maps — Bakurani, Ozeti and Zestafona — each with real tile imagery, tower positions and faction spawn areas. Supported weapons include the L81 mortar and the SPH-2 self-propelled howitzer, each with its own ballistic table.
Why is my round still landing short or long?
Ballistic tables are community-measured, not official firing tables. Game updates, terrain height, vehicle attitude and random dispersion all move the impact point. Treat the result as a starting correction and adjust from the fall of shot.
