Frequently asked questions

Is there a WARDOGS damage calculator?
Yes — this page is a free browser-based WARDOGS damage calculator. Choose a weapon, an ammunition type, the target helmet and body armor, and the engagement distance; every number updates immediately with no login and nothing to install.
Is there a WARDOGS damage log?
The results table is a per-shot damage log for the setup you selected: it lists damage, shots to kill and time to kill for each of the 12 hit zones. It is a calculation log rather than a record of your matches — the site has no account system and never receives your gameplay data.
How is WARDOGS damage calculated?
Base weapon damage is multiplied by the hit-zone multiplier, then reduced by the armor coverage and armor level the round actually meets, modified by the ammunition type (FMJ, AP, hollow point and so on) and finally reduced by distance falloff. Change any input and the whole log is recalculated.
What is TTK and how do I read it?
TTK (time to kill) is how long the weapon needs to fire enough rounds to kill, given its rate of fire and the shots-to-kill count for that hit zone. It is the fairest way to compare two weapons, because a harder-hitting round can still lose to a faster-firing one.
Which hit zones are covered?
Twelve: head, neck, thorax, stomach, both upper arms, both forearms, both thighs and both lower legs. Helmet and body armor only protect the zones they actually cover, which is why a leg hit can be better than a center-mass hit against a heavily armored target.
Does distance change the result?
Yes. Move the distance slider and damage drops according to the falloff of the selected round. At long range a cheaper round can fall below the armor threshold and need several more hits, which the log shows straight away.
